What is PPE?
What is PPE?
Personal Protective Equipment, or PPE for short.
All equipment worn or held by an employee during working hours is to protect their health and safety from one or more risks (including the provision of clothing because of the weather). Examples include safety helmets, anti-static clothing, earplugs, protective goggles, dust masks, gas masks, protective gloves, and safety belts.

Why wear PPE ?
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is an important means of preventing injuries on the job. Ideally, hazards are controlled to create a safe working environment and reduce potential hazards. We only use PPE when it is not possible to control the source of the hazard, therefore, PPE is the last line of defence.

Types of PPE

Basic Requirements for Protective Equipment: The quality must be strictly guaranteed, with sufficient protective properties, and be safe and reliable. The materials chosen for protective gear must meet the physiological requirements of the human body and must not be a source of hazardous factors. Protective equipment must be easy to use and not affect normal work.
01 Head Protection I Safety Helmet

Potential Hazards and Consequences: Falling or flying objects; hitting heavy objects; gold fragments, spraying, splashing, spilling, dripping of chemical substances. Can cause neck sprains, concussions, head fractures, burns to the eyes and face. Protective measures: Wear a helmet correctly when working in places that are potentially dangerous to the head.
02 EYE (FACE) PROTECTION

POTENTIAL HAZARDS AND CONSEQUENCES: Flying or falling objects; spraying, splashing, spilling, dripping of metal shards, chemicals; bright light, ultraviolet and infrared rays; arc, microwave, laser radiation. Can cause eye injuries, retinal damage, cataracts, photophthalmos, and other eye diseases. Protective measures: When working in environments with flying dust (particles), molten metal, corrosive chemical liquids, gases or vapours, and potentially slightly harmful radiation, you need to wear goggles and protective masks correctly.
03 Hearing organ protection

Potential hazards and consequences: Mechanical noise, aerodynamic noise, electromagnetic noise. It will lead to earache, tinnitus, hearing damage, eye fatigue, eye pain, eye blurring, and tearing, and other eye injuries; psychological pressure becomes greater, causing dizziness, headache, insomnia, and other physical and psychological diseases. Protective measures: When exposed to an equivalent sound level greater than or equal to 85dB for 8 hours during the working day, wear hearing protection equipment such as earplugs or earplugs.
04 Respiratory Protection

Potential Hazards and Consequences: Inhalation of dust, fumes, oil mist, and toxic and hazardous gases can cause lung disease/death by poisoning. Protective measures: Wear respiratory protection correctly when working in a toxic or hazardous substance environment or in a state of oxygen deprivation.
05 HAND AND FOOT PROTECTION
Potential Hazards and Consequences: Broken edges of tools and mechanical injuries; use of metal tools such as nails, wire cutters, chisels, etc. in contact with corrosive or toxic chemicals, electrical power sources, and extremely cold or hot objects; moving heavy mechanical equipment or objects; falling heavy objects, bumping into hard objects; static electricity, etc. This can lead to smashes, punctures, burns, scalds, electrocution, slips and falls, and so on. Protective measures: Safety shoesand protective gloves must be worn when working in areas where static electricity is present or can cause injuries to hands and feet.

06 Torso Protection

Potential Hazards and Consequences: Static electricity can cause burns/frostbite, scalds, corrosion, and other injuries, which can result in injury or death. Protective measures: When entering flammable and explosive production sites, wear anti-static clothing correctly. When entering other places, correctly wear protective clothing as required.
07 Fall Protection

Potential Hazards and Consequences: Fall from height. It can lead to serious injury or even death. Protective measures: When working at heights, use the correct personal fall protection products, such as scaffolding/safety belts, if appropriate; fall protection cannot be fitted.
