How to manufacture gloves?

2025-03-21

The process of manufacturing Gloves varies depending on the material and purpose of the glove; at SONICE, we are committed to producing high-qualitysafety and protective gloves, including impact resistant Work Gloves, cut resistant gloves, and machine gloves. Our production lines cover knitting, sewing, and dip-dyeing factories, ensuring that each pair of gloves is carefully crafted to meet the needs of different industries. Today, we'll take you on an in-depth tour of how these specialized gloves are made.

Step 1: The Knitting Shop - knitting the sturdy glove core

It all starts in our weaving workshop, where high-performance fibers such as high modulus polyethylene (HPPE) are transformed into the core of the glove - the glove core. These fibers are chosen for their excellent cut resistance. With state-of-the-art automated equipment, we can precisely control the position of each fiber to ensure that the glove core is both soft and strong. After the knitting is complete, the glove core is run through a needle inspection machine to ensure that it is free of any metal impurities and is crimped for added durability.

Step 2: Dipping and dyeing workshop - giving the gloves their special function

The next step is the dip-dyeing workshop, where the process is operated by professionals with over ten years of experience. The core of the glove is fixed on a mold and then dipped and dyed in the appropriate material according to the customer's needs. Commonly used materials include PU (polyurethane), nitrile rubber, and natural latex. Different processes are used to enhance the functionality of the gloves, such as nitrile frosting or foaming, latex creasing,g or foaming. Sometimes, to enhance the waterproof effect, a second dipping process is also carried out.

Step 3: Sewing Workshop - Details make the difference

Once the rubber-impregnated gloves are initially shaped, they enter the sewing workshop. Here, skilled craftsmen sew TPR (thermoplastic rubber) components into key areas of the glove, such as the palm and fingers, which not only enhances the glove's anti-smash and anti-impact capabilities but also improves its overall comfort and dexterity. Every detail is subject to strict quality control to ensure the final product meets high standards.

Step 4: Quality Control and Packaging - Ensure Every Pair is a Fine Product

Finally, each pair of gloves undergoes a series of rigorous quality inspection processes, including size checks, appearance inspections, and performance tests. Only gloves that pass all the tests are carefully packed and ready to be sent to customers around the world. Whether in kitchens, glass factories or seafood processing plants, our cut-resistant gloves provide reliable protection, while on construction sites or in construction companies, gloves with added PU or nitrile coatings provide additional slip and abrasion-resistant properties.

Step 5: Customised services - for individual requirements

In addition to our standard products, we also offer a highly customized service. Whether you require specific colors, logos, or additional functional layers, we are able to customize production to your requirements. This flexibility allows us to better serve the unique needs of a variety of industries.

Unique Production Process for Mechanical Gloves

For mechanical gloves, the production process is slightly different. First, we need to design a detailed template and then cut the fabric according to the template. These cut pieces are then put together in the sewing room to form the basic shape of the glove. After that, the gloves are ironed to give them a more regular shape. Finally, each pair of gloves undergoes stringent quality checks and packaging before they are finally shipped out of the factory.
